PC4600 ultrasonic operated pump
controller is built to transfer
a certain amount of fluid from a
sump to another area. Its
operation is governed by the
fluid depth sensed by an
ultrasonic transmitter. Users
can change settings on the
control panel at the data
terminal. A graphic display
indicates the alarm status for
the stop level, lead/lag pump
start, high fluid level,
ultrasonic failure, pump
overloads, and float switch
malfunctions. Additional status
conditions can be monitored on
the terminal screen by pressing
the appropriate keys.
During normal operation, the two
back-up float self-diagnostic
process will keep track of float
malfunction. Every float
operating cycle is calculated,
and mean values are logged into
the program memory for emergency
use. The loss of echo by the
ultrasonic sensor will not
interrupt an operation, the
system will change to a float
operation mode and will continue
to work even if the stop float
fails. At this critical moment,
the mean value of previous pump
cycles stored in memory will be
used as a reference to start and
stop the pump(s).
